Jung Saem Mool Essential Skin Nuder Cushion

Best CC Cream I tried.

Tried many different brand over the years, Sulwhasoo, NARS, TheFaceShop, Banila Co and VDL. Been a fan of Jung Saem Mool since my college days. I would spend my nights watching her Youtube makeup videos. She is a legend. 

Saw many rave reviews and decided to try it. Went to the shop at Ion to test the texture and to get color matched. The shade that the sales associate matched for my skintone is N-Light. Great color matching, looks natural and no whitish finish. 

It was S$49.40, and comes with another refill. 

This cushion has medium coverage, and does not feel heavy on the skin. It is easy to blend. Though you might need additional concealer on areas such as undereyes and around the nose. It gives a nice dewy finish, which works well for my dry skin. For those that have oily skin, you might need to use loose powder to set in Singapore's humid weather.

For those who prefers higher coverage or matte finish, the Skin Nuder Long Wear Cushion will be a better option. 

This is a product I will definitely repurchase.

Dry Skincare Routine

My current skincare routine for my dry skin type. My skin type has changed over the years. From combination skin type to acne issues, and now my skin being on the drier side. My skincare routine has been simplified ever since becoming a mother. Reliable products that work for my lifetstyle and preference. 

1) Bioderma Hydrabio H2O, 500ml

- Changed to this Hydrabio cleansing water a few months back. Biorderma is the best cleansing water out there. Been using this brand for years. Was previously the pink top Bioderma Sensibio H20. 

- Use this with cotton pad, twice a day. It removes makeup, sunscreen and dirt. 

2) Belif Super Knights Hy-Soothing Pack Cleanser

- Something new that I tried. It is a cleanser/mask product. You leave it on for 1 minute and then wash it off with lukewarm water. It does help to remove sunscreen and CC cream.

- Use it once a day, at night. 

3) Cos-RX The 6 Peptide Skin Booster

- 2nd purchase. It is a toner/serum, I use it twice a day. It preps the skin for other products. I apply 2 -3 drops onto my face and pat it gently to absorb. My skin feels less dry after using this. 

4) Skin 1004 Madagascar Centella Hyalu-Cica Moisture Cream

- A new product that I tried, it claims to provide lasting hydration for 100 hours. 

- Lightweight moisture cream, suitable for Singapore's humid weather. No distinct scent, which I prefer. 

5) Biore UV Aqua Rich

70g 

- Bought this sunscreen in Japan. Good texture, not sticky. Though it has a slight alcohol-like scent. My daughter said the scent hurt her eyes when I first used the sunscreen, which is something to take note of.  Overall, it blends well with my moisturizer and CC Cream. Though I would not repurchase it, prefer Joseon of Beauty sunscreen.

Will be planning on adding a hydrating serum or Vitamin C serum to the skincare routine soon. Stay tuned for updates!

NARS LIGHT REFLECTING™ SERUM CUSHION Foundation

Bought this Nars Cushion because needed an easy base makeup to brighten my complexion. 

It retailed for S$58 just for the cushion. At the time, the case was out of stock. The case retails separately for S$18.  A funny thing that it comes separately. 

Bought this at the airport last minute. This cushion claims to have skincare properties and boosts skin radiance. It has minimal coverage. Feels nice on the skin.  Though on some days, it feels not enough. 

One cushion lasts about 4 months with use. 

This product seems to be discontinued, not available on Sephora Singapore. 

REVIEW: Tarte Shape Tape Contour Concealer

This best-selling concealer has been on my wish list for the longest time! With the pandemic and working from home situation, my makeup has not been touched in a long time. Decided to toss my long overdue Chanel concealer. It has been in use for over 2 years. It is way past the recommended shelf life for concealer. Formulated without parabens, mineral oil, phthalates, triclosan and sodium lauryl sulfate. Tarte Shape Tape Concealer is great for those who are concerned of harmful ingredients in their cosmetics.

This highly raved concealer claims to lasts for 16 hours. Tarte Shape Tape concealer claims to smooth and brighten to make eyes appear lifted. Since the main use of concealer is for my dark circles, this product sounds perfect. The sponge tip applicator makes it easy to use. Tarte Shape Tape’s crease-proof formula would not cake or settle for 12 hours. Its trademarked tape technology helps to smooth and blur appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. 

Tarte Shape Tape concealer is quite pricey at S$42. Though it is slightly cheaper compared to Chanel Le Correcteur, which is S$47.50. The texture of the Tape Shape Concealer is thicker than Chanel Le Correcteur concealer. You only need a small amount (less than a pea-size amount) to conceal the dark circles. When I tried the concealer under my eyes, the 27S light-medium sand was a better match for my overall skin tone. It conceals my dark circles without being too light. 27S is suitable for light to medium skintone with yellow undertones.

REVIEW: Drunk Elephant Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser

Bought this Drunk Elephant Beste No.9 Jelly Cleanser about a year ago. This expensive cleanser costs S$46 from Sephora. It contains 150 ml of product, which lasts about 6 months with daily use. Note: I only use the Drunk Elephant Jelly Cleanser at night. 

This cleanser has been on my wish list for a while. It is expensive compared to other cleansers on the market. Drunk Elephant Jelly Cleanser claims to remove all traces of makeup, pollution, oil and grime without irritating the skin. It is free of SLS, fragrance and essential oils. The Jelly Cleanser has a P.H of 5.5 which would not strip the skin. This sounds perfect for those with sensitive skin, like me. 

So what are my thoughts on this Drunk Elephant Jelly Cleanser?

Drunk Elephant Jelly Cleanser is a transparent gel that creates a nice foam.  It works well for my sensitive combination skin. My skin does not feel tight or dry after use. 

The gel texture reminds me of Avène Soapless Foaming Gel. Even the scent is reminiscent of Avène Soapless Foaming Gel The difference is that Avène Foaming Gel contains thermal spring water which is targeted for its soothing properties. In terms of costs, Avène Foaming Gel comes  in 120 ml packaging, and costs $32.60. For comparison, Avène Foaming Gel costs $0.27 per ml while Drunk Elephant costs $0.31 per ml.
