REVIEW: Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Multi-Purpose Dry Oil Face, Body & Hair

This Nuxe Multi-Puprose Dry Oil has been an beauty staple for the office. This product was actually purchase by MG but I have taken the liberty to use it as well. NEW BUY: Nuxe Multi-Purpose Dry Oil This Nuxe Dry Oil can be used for the face, body and hair. The first thing I noticed about this Nuxe Dry Oil is the scent. The scent is pleasantly floral, it reminds me of the beach somehow. I really <3 the scent! Even my boyfriend is a big fan of the scent, he can tell when I apply it on my hair.
The splash bottle packaging is made out of glass, so it is not as travel-friendly. The tip of the bottle has a stopper so the product does not overflow. It works great, and dispense just the right amount of oil.

Most often, MG and I use this dry oil as a moisturizer for our legs. Since the air conditioning in the office can be quite harsh and dry, this Nuxe oil works great to keep my legs feeling well-moisturised. It is well-absorbed by the skin, and does not leave a sticky feeling. On several occasions, I have applied this oil on my coarse and frizzy hair. Two drops of Nuxe Oil are all I need for my thick and coarse hair. Surprisingly, my hair did not feel greasy afterwards. Moreover, this Nuxe Oil made my hair felt softer and smoother. Double Yay!

I will definitely recommend this Nuxe Multi-Purpose Dry Oil. It works great for your body as well as for your hair. I have yet to try it on my face, since I have ultra sensitive combination skin. P.S: As both Watsons and Guardian regularly have discount for this product, do wait till they have a sale on this product, do not pay full price for it.

MG describes this dry oil as "light and fast-absorbing". It smells therapeutic, and reminds her of spas. The thing she likes most about Nuxe Dry Oil is the scent. It makes her feel  oh-so-relaxed.  However, she would not repurchase Nuxe Dry Oil because it is expensive. She bought it at S$32.40 (when Watsons was having a sale) for 50ml of product, original price is a hefty S$45. She does not find the oil to be as moisturizing, and prefers a more heavy-duty product. Sometimes, there is a need to reapply the product to keep her well-moisturized all day.

REVIEW: Dove Nourishing Oil Care Serum

This affordable argan oil serum from Dove. I bought this particular serum in Indonesia, but Dove also retails this product in Singapore. The packaging looks the same, the only difference is the price tag. I cannot remember the exact price but it was less than S$10.

Comes in a convenient pump packaging that has a protective cap

40 ml of product

It claims to:

• tame even the most unruly hair
• minimize frizz
• nourish hair with argan and almond oil
• not weight hair down
• not leave a greasy feel 

The claims above seem too good for my frizzy and dry hair.
Can this serum from Dove really do all that magic?

The first thing to note is the signature Dove scent on this product. If you have you tried any of Dove products before, you will realized that they have the same underlying scent. Some people like it, while others do not appreciate it as much. As for me, Dove's signature musky scent is too overwhelming. I much prefer the natural scent of argan oil. In terms of texture, the serum is similar to other hair oil.

The good thing about this serum is that it is absorbed quickly into the hair. I have been using it for over two weeks now. One of its claims is TRUE, my hair does not feel greasy after application. However, I cannot support the other claims of the serum taming even the most unruly hair and minimizing frizz. My hair will still be as frizzy even after use. I thought my hair will be more controllable after applying the serum, but it did not help at all.

How do I apply it to my hair?
Since I have shoulder-length hair now, I dispense one pump of product. I rub the oil evenly on the palms of my hands before applying it only to the ends of my hair. It is important to apply the oil serum to the ends of my hair since there is where it is most prone to split ends. I avoid applying it to the top half of my hair because my scalp tends to get oily easily. Instead of applying it when my hair is wet, my previous hair stylist taught me to apply it when my hair is semi-dry.  A little science lesson. Oil does not mix well with water. When the hair is wet, the serum is not absorbed evenly onto the cuticles. It is more effective to apply it when it is semi-dry.

Even though I will still be using this oil care serum for now, I would not recommend it to you. It is not worth the ~S$10 I paid for it. I rather pay more for a product that works on my frizzy hair.
P.S: The reason for continued use is for its moisturizing properties. However, if I find a better serum for my frizzy hair, I will not hesitate to switch out.

REVIEW: Redken Diamond Oil Conditioner

Redken Diamond Oil Conditioner has been my go-to conditioner for about a month now. So here is my review on this expensive conditioner. I purchase it at AMK Venus Beauty for $22.90. This is probably the priciest conditioner that I have ever bought.

Everyday, after I shampoo with Dae Gi Meo Ri Vitalizing Shampoo, I apply  a 50-cent (quarter) coin amount.  The conditioner is applied to the bottom half of my hair, concentrating on the ends. I leave it on for 2-3 minutes before rinsing it out with cold water.

For some reason, whenever the term "oil" is used, I will assume that the product will be too greasy for my liking. The conditioner is a cream texture, like many other hair masks or deep conditioners. It is absorbed easily into the hair. When I rinse it off with cold water, I find that I do not have to rinse as long as other conditioners to get if off. My hair does not feel heavy after using this conditioner. It is surprisingly light for a heavy-duty conditioner. After using it for some time, I do find that it helps disguise my split ends. Even thought the use of anti-hair loss shampoo such as Dae Gi Meo Ri Vitalizing Shampoo is supposed to cause my hair to be dry, I find that I do not have such problem with the help of Redken Diamond Oil Conditioner. It keeps my frizzy hair somewhat in control, and I do find that my hair is smoother because of it.

Overall, I will re-purchase this conditioner because of how easily it rinses off and that it does not weigh down my hair. However, I will not buy it from Venus Beauty anymore. I found that Beauty Language and British Essentials retails it at a much more cheaper price @ $17-19.

NEW BUY: Redken Diamond Oil Conditioner

Since my conditioner was running low, I decided to shop around for a new one. Currently, I am using Essential Rich conditioner. This time, I decided to look for a more moisturizing conditioner since I will be trying the Dae Gi Mae Ro anti-hair loss shampoo. Since anti-hair loss shampoo can dry out the hair, I will need a "heavier" conditioner. My hairstylist, Gilbert, uses Redken products, so I decided to try one of their conditioners. 

Buying shampoos and hair products from salon tend to be more expensive. A more affordable alternative is to buy high-end hair products from shops such as Venus Beauty, Red Tomato and such, which sells the products at a much cheaper price. Skeptics said shampoos and hair products sold in those shops are not authentic or that the products have been diluted. However, from my experience, the shampoos and conditioners work just as well.  

The shampoo I bought was Redken Diamond Oil Conditioner from Venus Beauty @ AMK. It retailed for $22.90. This is one of the most expensive conditioners that I have bought, I hope it is worth the price.   

Redken official website mentioned that this conditioner contains coriander, camelina and apricot oils which moisturize hair strands and prevent it from breakage. Hair oils are known to be good for dry and frizzy hair. This is probably the "richest" conditioner that Redken has on the market. 

I cannot wait to try this conditioner. I hope it moisturizes my hair and prevents further split ends from occuring.
