REVIEW: Bobbi Brown Illuminating Cheek Palette in Peach

The top of the palette is bright coral
~AG~

This Bobbi Cheek Palette in Peach contains Havana - a light pink brown,  Pink Coral - a bright nectar and  Peach - a golden highlight. This palette is ideal for those with light to medium skin tones. Bought it last year from Bobbi Brown website for US$50 (S$68). Took me a while to finally try this palette.

The packaging is sleek and compact. Though it does not come with a travel brush. This palette is great to travel with because it comes with 3 different cheek products - blush, bronzer and highlighter. At first I thought that the Pink Coral (shade pictured in the middle) would be too pink for my Asian skin tone. However, if you use a light hand, Pink Coral can brighten up the whole face.Usually Western makeup products tend to be intense for the contour shade, so it might not compliment Asian skin tones. Though, I would have to say Havana is not too brown for my yellow skintone. For reference, I am Chanel Shade 22 Beige Rose. It works well to contour my cheekbones and jaws. My least favorite product is the highlighter, Peach. Because the shade and shimmer is not glowy enough. With that being said, the highlighter is still okay for daily use. But for special occasions, I would stick with Becca Cosmetics Shimmering Skin Perfector.
From Left to Right: Havana, Pink Coral and Peach

Overall, this is a good everyday cheek palette to use. The shades are flattering and easy-to-use. Instead of bringing 3 products when traveling, this palette has all the cheek products you need. Sad to say that this cheek palette is no longer available on Bobbi Brown . Though they still have a similar cheek palette available called Take It to Glow Highlight and Bronzing Powder Palette

NEW BUY: Pixi Glow Tonic

~AG~
Bought this award-winning Glow Tonic from Pixi when I was in Italy. Been wanting to try Glow Tonic because of rave reviews. Glow Tonic works as toner to be used twice a day. It contains 5% Glycolic Acid that exfoliates and purifies the skin. This toner also includes botanical ingredients such as ginseng to improve circulation and aloe vera to hydrate skin. Since this exfoliating toner removes dead skin cells, it also refines the appearance of pores. This alcohol-free toner balances and soothes skin. Reviews mention that Glow Tonic creates a brighter and glowing complexion after use.
Sephora Singapore is selling Pixi Glow Tonic in 3 available sizes - 15ml, 100ml and 250 ml.

Cannot wait to try this once I am done with Thayers Witch Hazel Rose Petal Toner. Stay tuned for my review of this popular product from Pixi.

REVIEW: Sulwhasoo Radiance Energy Mask

Packaging of Sulwhasoo Radiance Energy Mask
How it looks like when you open the box
 Comes with a Jade-like scoop
~AG~

Sulwhasoo is one of the premium brands under the Amore Pacific group. Other brands under the Amore Pacific group includes Laneige, Etude House, innisfree, Hera and mamonde. Having tried a few sleeping mask, I appreciate the convenience and moisturizing effects of an overnight mask. This Sulwhasoo Energy Mask is special because of its Jadesphere technology. This product contains jade capsules to to increase the absorption of the nourishing components. Since discovering Mount Lai Jade facial roller, this Radiance Energy Mask would be a good product to pair with it.

This is one of the most luxurious skincare product that I have purchased. It costs S$90.80 for a 80 ml tub. A huge tub such as this, should lasts me at least 6 months if I were to use 2-3 times a week. It comes with a small green scoop to dispense the product. Though, I usually scoop the product using my fingers instead. You are to apply this as the last step of your skincare. This clarifying sleeping mask is designed to detoxify and nourish the skin throughout the night.

This sleeping mask has a nice texture. It does not feel sticky or heavy on the skin as Laneige Sleeping Mask. Since I sleep in an air conditioned room all night, my skin can feel tight and dry in the morning, even though I apply moisturizer. This Sulwhasoo Radiance Energy Mask makes my skin feels well hydrated the next morning. Recently, I have been using it 3 times a week and noticed that it keeps my skin hydrated and balanced. My sensitive skin did not have any adverse reaction to this product. Since the texture of the cream is rather light, it did not clogged the pores or cause new breakouts.
This is a great addition to my skincare regimen. Even though it is expensive, I highly recommend it. The soft and light texture is perfect for my combination skin. This overnight mask effectively hydrates my dehydrate skin. Sulwhasoo Radiance Energy Mask makes my skin feels smoother and softer after use. In terms of radiance, I cannot really tell the difference. But it helps improve the overall texture of the skin. Would definitely repurchase it!

REVIEW: NYX Build 'Em Up Brow Powder

~AG~
Bought this NYX Build ‘Em Up Brow Powder from Target. It costs US$8 (S$11). This product is available in 8 shades. This sleek brow product comes with a felt tip applicator. The ultra fine tip fills in the brows with powder. This superfine matte powder is ideal for building full and natural-looking brows. Define your arches using the pointed and fill in any sparse areas with quick, upward strokes for a feathery-soft finish.

Powder falls out to your eyelids and under eyes area, which can get messy. But since it is a powder, it is easy to clean up. I find it is best that you draw a line on the back of your hand. Then use the powder fall out to draw your eyebrows. The pointed felt tip applicator makes the brow streaky so I have to use a spoolie to even out the powder.

This an affordable brow product. However, it is too messy to use because of the fallout. Would not recommend NYX Build 'Em Up Brow Powder.  Would just stick to ordinary brow powder as my go-to product.

REVIEW: Glamglow Supermud Clearing Treatment

~AG~
Bought this Glamglow Supermud Clearing Treatment mini for S$25 during the Sephora sale.
One of GlamGlow best-selling products. This product is also Allure 2018 Readers' Choice Winner. This activated charcoal mask contains 6 acids to visibly clear skin. The 6 acids are glycolic acid, salicylic acid, lactic acid, mandelic acid, pyruvic acid, and tartaric acid. Glamglow Clearing Treatment targets clogged pores, dead skin cells and excess oil. It removes dirt and impurities from deep within the pores.
So what are my thoughts about this award-winning product from Glamglow?
My skin felt tingly when Glamglow Supermud was applied. On the website, it says that it is normal for the product to tingle as it is working. This SuperMud can be used 1-3 times a week. You apply the mask to dry skin and leave it on for 5-20 minutes. Since my skin is rather sensitive, I only use this SuperMud once a week. I apply the Supermud to areas that is prone to clogged pores and blackheads such as my nose, chin and forehead. Since my cheeks can get dry, I do not apply Glamglow Clearing Treatment there. A good thing about this the mud mask is that it washes off easily with warm water.

Having use this Clearing Treatment for over a month, I cannot notice significant improvement to clogged pores or blackheads. I would not repurchase Glamglow Supermud Clearing Treatment as it is pricey product, and other affordable mud mask does the job just as well. Glamglow Supermud Clearing Treatment is not a must-have for my skincare regimen.

REVIEW: Son & Park Beauty Water

Son & Park Beauty Water
~AG~

Beauty Water can be used in the morning to create the perfect canvas for makeup application, midday as a refresher, and night after cleansing to whisk away remaining impurities. For normal, oily, dry, and combination skin types. Beauty Water has a pH of 4.5, effectively resetting the skin's natural pH after cleansing. Soko Glam is selling it for US$30 (S$41). The Beauty Water contains willow bark and papaya extract to help exfoliate dead skin cells, revealing brighter skin tone and smoother texture. Lavender water, rose water, and orange fruit extract impart a subtle hydration so your skin can be prepped to absorb the next skin care steps, while adding in a bit of moisture.

This popular Son & Park Beauty Water has been part of my skincare regime for over 2 weeks now. So what are my thoughts about this product?
It has a distinct botanical scent compared to Bioderma Sensibio. Though the scent is not unpleasant. In terms of cleansing properties, Son & Park Beauty Water seems to do a better job of removing sunscreen, makeup and impurities. One cotton pad of Son & Park Beauty Water is able to capture more residue compared to one cotton pad of Bioderma. Typically use it at night to cleanse face. It takes 2 cotton pads to thoroughly cleanse the face. I try to avoid using Son & Park Beauty Water on the eyes area because it can irritate the eyes. My sensitive skin did not have any adverse reaction to this Beauty Water. Yay! I was a little worried that this Beauty Water might not work for my skin. The exfoliating agents in the Beauty Water is gentle enough for my skin. My skin does not feel dry after use. It keeps my combination skin in check.

Even though this Son & Park Beauty Water is pricey, one bottle contains 340 ml of product which should lasts 3-4 months with daily use. For those that have tried Bioderma, this would be a good alternative for those living in Korea. The only downside is this product is not easily available in Singapore, but you can buy it online. Would recommend it for someone who is looking for a cleansing water/toner to add to their skincare regimen.

REVIEW: Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua & Le Correcteur De Chanel

The newest addition to my face makeup
Vitalumiere Aqua
~AG~
Been always been a big fan of Chanel Beauty face makeup. Tried a few of their products over the years and found their formula to be suitable for my skin. Since my HG Urban Decay Naked Liquid Makeup is more than 2 years old, it is time to get a new one for my skin health. Decided to try Vitalumiere Aqua as my next liquid foundation. It is described as an ultra-light skin perfecting makeup. The saleslady matched my skin to the shade 22 Beige Rose. This shade matches my medium skin tone well. This Chanel liquid foundation costs S$68.90 at Shilla Duty Free. It comes with 33ml of product. Since I do not use liquid foundation often, this bottle of foundation will be more than enough. Vitalumiere Aqua is lightweight and has low coverage. It gives a nice dewy finish. You are to shake the bottle before use. The saleslady asked how my makeup usually oxidises, and advised to apply a makeup primer prior. What are my thoughts about the Vitalumiere Aqua? The lightweight texture feels nice on my skin. The product provides a nice soft finish. Vitalumiere Aqua will be suitable for those who prefer minimal coverage. However, you would need to use concealer to conceal pimples and dark circles.
Le Correcteur

Bought the Le Correcteur De Chanel for $47.50. The shade that I chose was 20 Beige, which is similar to the Vitalumiere Aqua shade. At first the saleslady recommended a lighter shade for my dark circles, but since I do not use foundation on a daily basis, I opted for a shade that will match my skin tone. This is to avoid the reverse panda eyes look, which happens when the concealer is too light. This gel-based concealer is long-lasting. It provides medium coverage and is suitable to conceal my dark circles. The concealer comes with a sponge tip applicator for convenience. Even though this concealer has a gel texture, it does not melt in Singapore's humid weather. It is a great product to carry in your handbag. Overall, I am satisfied with the coverage and lasting power of this concealer.

REVIEW: Korres Natural Damask Rose Anti Fatigue Mask

~AG~

Bought this Korres Anti Fatigue Mask during my honeymoon to Greece. Tried several of Korres products a few years back. They were popular in Sephora USA because of the use of natural ingredients. I cannot remember how much Korres Rose Anti Fatigue Mask retails for but it should be less than 15. Korres website put the retail price10.50€ (S$16.50). The reason I bought it is because of its handy size. It comes in an 18ml bottle which is just nice for traveling. This mask is supposed to be leave-on overnight and then wash off in the morning. This Anti Fatigue Mask is anti-ageing, creamy night treatment that rejuvenates skin and helps reduce the signs of premature aging.

Enriched with Damask Rose extract which is known for its toning, antiseptic and astringent properties, the extract delivers a potent anti wrinkle action. This Anti Fatigue Mask also contains soothing aloe vera and moisture-binding hyaluronic acid to enrich skin hydration. Boosted with stable Vitamin C for visible brightened skin, antioxidant Vitamin E and nourishing natural waxes, the mask leaves the complexion fresh. This product is free from mineral oils, petrolatum, paraffin wax, silicones, parabens phthalates, retinol and synthetic dyes. According to Korres website, it contains 95.24% natural content. That sounds great for someone with sensitive skin like mine.

My skin gets especially dry when I fly. Like now, my skin feels tight and dry. Late nights + dry atmosphere of the plane = Dehydrated Skin. This Korres Rose Mask is a good addition to my nighttime skincare regimen. This Korres Mask has a rather creamy texture compared to Laneige Sleeping Mask.  I usually apply Korres Mask as the last step of my skincare regimen. I pair this Korres Anti Fatigue Mask with Embryolisse Lait Creme Concentre to give my skin the added hydration it needs. This Korres Anti Fatigue Mask does not leave a sticky feeling which is great. I do not like when my mask leave a sticky feeling, such as Laneige Sleeping Mask. Since this Anti Fatigue Mask has a nice texture, I used it every night on my recent trip to China. It helps to make my skin feels hydrated the next morning. In terms of the brightening and anti-aging effects, I could not notice it.

The  Korres Anti Fatigue Mask has a distinct rose scent that is not overwhelming. Overall, this is a good addition to my travel skincare bag. Though, the Korres brand is not readily available in Singapore. Guess I would have to look for a more accessible alternative. But for those in the States or Europe, do try this Korres Anti Fatigue Mask.

REVIEW: Drunk Elephant C-Tango Multivitamin Eye Cream

~AG~

I am so excited to try this highly rated Drunk Elephant C-Tango Multivitamin Eye Serum. Bought it from Sephora USA for US$64 (S$88) last June. Good news is Drunk Elephant products are available in Sephora Singapore now. If you have not heard of Drunk Elephant then you should check them out. The brand philosophy is to say "No to 6 Suspicious Ingredients" which are Essential Oils, Drying Alcohols, Silicones, Chemical Screens, Fragrances and SLS. Drunk Elephant is a clean skincare brand that pride its products with non-harmful ingredients to the body.

This Eye Serum comes in an orange and white packaging. The packaging has a twist cap that pops the pump up when in use. Then you can twist down the pump when not in use. This innovative packaging is great for traveling since it prevents the pump from accidentally dispensing product.
This Eye Serum contains 8 peptides, 5 forms of Vitamin C and cucumber extract to brighten and firm the eye area. This product has rave reviews to combat dark circles. Been using it for over two months, twice a day. On some days, I use Drunk Elephant eye cream with Mt. Lai Jade Facial Roller. The cooling properties of the Jade helps to soothe the eye area.

So here are my thoughts. Drunk Elephant C-Tango Eye Cream is absorbed easily into the skin and does not leave any sticky feeling. The creamy texture keeps my undereyes area hydrated. My concealer goes well on top of Drunk Elephant Eye Cream. This C-Tango Eye Cream is suitable for my sensitive skin and did not trigger any milia. Yay! I tend to be wary of trying new eye cream or serum because my undereyes area is prone to milia. In regards to dark circles, my panda eyes are still there. I feel this Drunk Elephant can work well for preventative skin care rather than combat existing problems.

It is one of the most expensive eye cream/serum that I have purchased. 15 ml for S$88. It will only last me 3 months or so. I might buy another bottle of Drunk Elephant C-Tango Eye Cream just to see whether there is any effect on my dark circles if I use it for a longer time. Overall, I am satisfied with the product but not the price. I supposed the expensive price tag is due to the clean ingredients Drunk Elephant uses.

NEW BUY: Sulwhasoo Radiance Energy Mask

~AG~

Bought Sulwhasoo Radiance Energy Mask from Shilla Duty Free for S$90.80. This is one of the priciest masks that I have ever purchased. This clarifying sleeping mask is designed to detoxify and nourish the skin throughout the night. This sleeping mask is to be used 2 to 3 times a week. You use it as the last step of your nighttime skincare routine.

What attracted me to this Sulwhasoo Mask is that it has Sulwhasoo’s JadesphereTM technology which delivers the power of skin-benefiting jade. Circular jade capsules help spread the nourishing components more efficiently. Jade provides intensive overnight skincare and helps remove skin impurities, leaving your skin looking smooth and immaculate when cleansing in the morning.
Since discovering the use of jade roller in skincare, I been trying to look for a sleeping mask to pair it with. This Sulwhasoo Radiance Energy Mask seems like the perfect product to pair with my jade facial roller. Hope this Energy Mask helps to brighten my skin tone and achieve a more radiant complexion. This is essential especially when my skin has been "harmed" by constant late nights and traveling.

NEW BUY: Son & Park Beauty Water

~AG~

My big brother went to South Korea recently and he offered to help me buy some beauty products. The first on my list was Son & Park Beauty Water. This is award-winning Beauty Water by Son & Park can be used as a cleansing water or a toner. Seen this product a few years back at Olive Young but did not purchase it then because my skin was ultra sensitive then.

Soko Glam is selling it for US$30 (S$41)

NEW BUY: Drugstore Eyeshadow Palette

~AG~

A late post on two drugstore eyeshadow palettes that I purchased a few months ago in the USA. While browsing through my favourite Target, I saw this Almay Shadow Squad. The neutral colors of 120 Never Settle look perfect for everyday use. For work, I usually use a single swipe of shade for the whole eyelid. I prefer neutral shades such as shimmery peach, gold, light brown or any brightening shade. The great thing about this eyeshadow palette is that there are 4 finishes: matte, satin, metallic and glitter. The best part of all is that is only costs US$6.99 (S$9.60)

Wet n Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Palette is a popular drugstore product. MG bought a Wet n Wild eyeshadow palette many years ago and she mentioned that it was pretty good. This eyeshadow palette comes in 10 shades and costs only US$4.99 (S$6.90). Wet n Wild Eyeshadows are known for their pigmentation. The palette I chose is 759 Comfort Zone.  For this palette, I chose darker shades (green, blue and browns) that would be suitable for night look.

NEW BUY: Dr Jart+ Rubber Mask Firming Lover

 ~AG~

Saw this revolutionary mask from Dr. Jart+ a while back. Sephora Singapore is selling it for S$17. It is pricey for a single use mask. Dr. Jart Rubber Mask is supposed to soothe and improve skin texture. The Rubber Mask prevents active ingredients from evaporating. This two-system mask contains an ampoule pack which berries (strawberry, raspberry, blueberry) extracts to increasing skin elasticity by supplying rich nutrients. Rubber mask sheet contains Red seaweed extract X algin to deeply moisturize skin and keep skin feeling moist all day. Derived from algae, the rubber mask reacts with calcium to cool and calm the skin, while actives cling to moisture to maximise benefits.

My brother bought this Dr. Jart Rubber Mask Firming Lover when he went to Korea. He said it is a popular skincare mask, according to the Koreans. I cannot wait to try it and see how the rubber mask will feel like on the skin. Stay tuned for my review.

REVIEW: Caudalie Make-Up Removing Cleansing Oil

 ~AG~

Bought this Caudalie Make-Up Removing Cleansing Oil a year ago. It was purchased from a pharmacy in Milan, Italy. I cannot remember how much it costs. But Caudalie's website is selling the 150ml one for EURO 16.

Caudalie Make-Up Removing Cleansing Oil works to dissolve all types of make-up, including waterproof, whilst removing impurities and cleansing the skin. The blend of 100% naturally derived plant oils nourishes and softens the skin without leaving a greasy film. Ideal for those looking for quick and highly effective make-up removal.

This Caudalie Cleansing Oil is non-comedogenic so it would be suitable for those with clogged or acne-prone skin. Just use one pump to remove my eye makeup. With eyes closed, I gently massage the cleansing oil around the eyes area then rinse it off with warm water. The Caudalie Cleansing Oil emulsify when it comes in contact with water. It effectively removes my waterproof eyeliner. I find the Cleansing Oil is more gentle to remove my makeup then using a cotton pad with makeup remover. It thoroughly removes eyeliner which usually takes me 2 soaked cotton pad and a cotton bud to remove, especially the lash line.

Would definitely repurchase this Caudalie Cleansing Oil the next time I am in Europe as it is cheaper to buy this French skincare brand there.

NEW BUY: Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream in Tube Form

~AG~

This Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream is a favorite of MG. She has gone through over 3 bottles of Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream. She usually applies this blue cream after popping her pimples. Now, the Midnight Blue Cream comes in a tub version. This packaging makes it more hygienic for application. A 60ml of tub costs S$37. MG purchased it from WishTrend Shopee store, as they were having an offer. I also bought one tub of the Midnight Blue Cream for myself.
Previously, I had tried MG's Midnight Blue Cream when we were traveling together. This Calming Cream does help to reduce redness and irritation. Since my skin can get sensitive at times, this Calming Cream would be a good product to have in my beauty arsenal. My cheeks tend to have some redness when it is irritated/dry. Hope this Calming Cream will help the redness and bumps I have on my cheeks area recently.

REVIEW: KoCoStar Tropical Eye Patch Acai Berry

~AG~

Bought KoCoStar Tropical Eye Patch Acai Berry from Shilla Duty Free. It was selling for $27 for 10 pairs. They were having a promotion, 10% off Korean products at Shilla Duty Free. At the end, it costs S$2.43 for each pair of eye patch.

Actually have never heard of this brand. After some reading, I found out that KoCoStar is a South Korean brand that is known to have mask series that can be used from head to toe. They have nail and hand pack, feet pack, lip mask, sheet mask and eye patch. There was a selection of Tropical Eye Patch to chose from: Pitaya (Dragonfruit), Mango, Coconut, Papaya.

Since Acai Berry is known for its antioxidant properties, I decided to try it. The Eye Patch contains natural fruit extract that gives the hydrogel its color. This hydrogel eye patch is more translucent compared to Petitfee Gold EGF Eye Patch. What I noticed instantly about KoCoStar Eye Patch is that it is not as soaked with essence compared to Petitfee. KoCoStar feels relatively dry when I removed it from the packaging. The Petitfee Eye Patch tends to slide down the eye area since it is drenched with essence. But KoCoStar Eye Patch stays on pretty well.  The KoCoStar eye patch is much longer compared to Petitfee, thus covering a larger area of the under eyes.

After using KoCoStar Tropical Eye Patch for 15 minutes, my undereye area feels cooling. I think it would have been more refreshing if I had put the Eye Patch in the fridge before use. On KoCoStar's website, they encourage the Eye Patch to be used daily but I am rather lazy about it. Since I use it once a week only, I cannot tell whether the Eye Patch helps to brighten the under eye area.

Overall, I would purchase other KoCoStar Tropical Eye Patch to try as it is rather affordable. Maybe I would try the Dragonfruit Eye Patch next. Since each pair is individually packed, Kocostar Eye Patch makes it great for traveling.

NEW BUY: Mount Lai De-Puffing Jade Facial Roller

 ~AG~

This Mount Lai De-Puffing Jade Facial Roller was recommended by a friend who is obsessed with skincare products. She mentioned that this Jade Facial Roller feels nice on the skin. This double-ended Jade Roller costs US$34 (S$48).

This Jade Roller is supposed to improves blood circulation, reduce puffiness and inflammation of skin, promotes lymphatic drainage, relieves jaw and facial tension. I use it twice a day after applying Embryolisse Creme. The creamy texture of the moisturizer allows the Jade roller to glide easily on the skin. I use the smaller end for areas such as the under eye area and forehead. An alternate way to use this Jade Facial Roller is with facial oil or serum.

After using this Jade Facial Roller for at least 3 months then can I give an honest review about this product. Hope this product will help with my puffy under eyes and boost overall skin radiance.

REVIEW: Dolly Wink Eyelash Fix

~AG~

Bought this Dolly Wink Eyelash Fix Hard Type for S$15.12 when Watsons was having a sale. The original price is S$18.90. Since my HG D.U.P Eyelash Fixer is not available in Singapore, decided to try Dolly Wink because they are well-known for their false eyelashes.

Dolly Wink Eyelash Fix goes on milky white but dries to a clear. Dolly Wink also sells Eyelash Fix that comes in black. Though, I prefer the transparent eyelash glue as it is less messy if there is a hiccup. This eyelash glue comes with a fine tip brush for precise application. I prefer eyelash glue that comes with a brush for easy application. This Eyelash Fix claims to be a ultra-strong type. It claims to keep your false eyelashes on all day. This waterproof glue is supposed to not come off with sweat or water. So what can I say about the lasting power of Dolly Wink Eyelash Fix? This eyelash glue does not stay as well as D.U.P Eyelash Fixer. The inner corner of my false lashes came off, and I had to reapply some of the eyelash glue. I am not sure is it because of the positioning of the false eyelashes, but that corner came off again after a few hours. So disappointing!

It takes about 30 seconds for the eyelash glue to be tacky, which is similar to DUO Eyelash Adhesive and D.U.P Eyelash Fixer. The eyelash glue dries to a clear and I usually go over the gaps with eyeliner. Dolly Wink Eyelash Fix also claims to be easy to remove. This I can attest to. It was removed by using an oil-based makeup remover and did not leave any residue on the eyelids. DollyWink Eyelash Fix contains ingredients that are gentle on the skin and does not irritate the eyes.

So what are my final thoughts on Dolly Wink Eyelash Fix? This is one of the lowest-performing eyelash glue that I have tried.  For the record, I have tried Duo Eyelash Adhesive, Revlon Lash Glue and D.U.P Eyelash Fixer. Would definitely not repurchase Dolly Wink Eyelash Fix.
