Browsing through a Body Shop store, I chanced upon this Spa of the World Himalayan Charcoal Body Clay. This was so interesting as I have never seen a clay product for the body. Clay face masks are commonly used to soak up impurities, and excess sebum. So, I asked the helpful saleslady what the difference between this Body Shop Charcoal Body Clay and regular clay face masks. She mentioned that the skin on our face is more sensitive, so clay face masks are much more gentle. She added that everyone has different skin types and not every skin type is suitable for clay face mask. While, we do not define the skin on our body the same way as we do the face on our skin. The skin on your body is more resilient compared to the skin on your face.
This Body Shop Charcoal Body Clay is to be used once a week on areas such as your chest and back. Since recently, I have been suffering from some back acne, I decided to try this product out. It contains Bamboo Charcoal for the Himalayas. How cool is that! It comes with 200 ml of clay and retails for S$36.90. With the Body Shop membership discount, it came to be S$33.21.
While looking through the ingredients list, I found that Spa of the World Himalayan Charcoal Body Clay contains Salicylic Acid, a known acne-fighting ingredient.
This has a minty sensation when applied. You leave it on for 10 minutes to dry. The saleslady told me to massage the areas in circular motions when rinsing it off with water.
I would have to use it for a longer time to see whether it helps with my back acne. Stay tune for my review on The Body Shop Spa of the Worl Himalayan Charcoal Body Clay.

REVIEW: Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Multi-Purpose Dry Oil Face, Body & Hair
~AG~
This Nuxe Multi-Puprose Dry Oil has been an beauty staple for the office. This product was actually purchase by MG but I have taken the liberty to use it as well. NEW BUY: Nuxe Multi-Purpose Dry Oil This Nuxe Dry Oil can be used for the face, body and hair. The first thing I noticed about this Nuxe Dry Oil is the scent. The scent is pleasantly floral, it reminds me of the beach somehow. I really <3 the scent! Even my boyfriend is a big fan of the scent, he can tell when I apply it on my hair.
The splash bottle packaging is made out of glass, so it is not as travel-friendly. The tip of the bottle has a stopper so the product does not overflow. It works great, and dispense just the right amount of oil.
Most often, MG and I use this dry oil as a moisturizer for our legs. Since the air conditioning in the office can be quite harsh and dry, this Nuxe oil works great to keep my legs feeling well-moisturised. It is well-absorbed by the skin, and does not leave a sticky feeling. On several occasions, I have applied this oil on my coarse and frizzy hair. Two drops of Nuxe Oil are all I need for my thick and coarse hair. Surprisingly, my hair did not feel greasy afterwards. Moreover, this Nuxe Oil made my hair felt softer and smoother. Double Yay!
I will definitely recommend this Nuxe Multi-Purpose Dry Oil. It works great for your body as well as for your hair. I have yet to try it on my face, since I have ultra sensitive combination skin. P.S: As both Watsons and Guardian regularly have discount for this product, do wait till they have a sale on this product, do not pay full price for it.

~MG~
MG describes this dry oil as "light and fast-absorbing". It smells therapeutic, and reminds her of spas. The thing she likes most about Nuxe Dry Oil is the scent. It makes her feel oh-so-relaxed. However, she would not repurchase Nuxe Dry Oil because it is expensive. She bought it at S$32.40 (when Watsons was having a sale) for 50ml of product, original price is a hefty S$45. She does not find the oil to be as moisturizing, and prefers a more heavy-duty product. Sometimes, there is a need to reapply the product to keep her well-moisturized all day.

NEW BUY: MUSEE COSME Smooth Body Scrub
~AG~
Saw this while I was in Japan, and was excited to see a brand that I am familiar with, Musee. I believe Musee Cosme is related to Musee Platinum, which is a Japanese hair removal salon. The logo and font colors are similar. I am a big fan of Musee Platinum as it has helped me reduce my underarm hairs. It has shown me desirable results after one year of regularly going for treatment. After the third or fourth treatment, visibly reduction of my underarm hair can be seen. My underarm hairs are becoming less, and the newly grown hair has also become more fine. I used to have to shave my underarms every 3 or 4 days. But now I hardly have to do it at all! It makes my life so much more easier.
More about Musee Cosme Smooth Body Scrub. This product costs me 1,800 Japanese Yen (S$20). It comes with 160 grams of product. It will take me a while to get through this tube as I do not scrub regularly enough. This body scrub has a pleasant floral fruity scent. I cannot wait to try it, especially on my legs. My legs tend to get dry easily, and I hope this scrub can help to keep it smooth. I tried Googling about this product online. But there wasn't much information in English. If you can read Japanese, feel free to click the link for more information. http://museecosme.com/products/detail.php?product_id=6
Stay tuned for my review on this newly purchased product from Japan.

NEW BUY: Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Multi-Purpose Dry Oil Face, Body & Hair
~MG~
Bought this multi-purpose dry oil from Nuxe at Watsons. They were having a 20% off promotion + 5% for members. The original price was S$45 but I only paid S$34.20 for it. This dry oil can be used for the face, body and hair. A few years back, I received a sample of this product in my Birchbox but did not try using it. Nuxe's dry oil is a popular product. I have seen it numerous times in beauty stores. This highly-rated product has been given good reviews online by beauty bloggers. The reason why I purchased this product is because I wanted to try using body oil on my legs instead of body lotions. As my legs tend to be quite dry, I find that lotions are not moisturizing enough. I was finally convinced by the relaxing floral scent of the dry oil. It reminded me of spas and massage oils. I will do a review of Nuxe Huile Prodigieuese Dry Oil once I use it long enough.

REVIEW: Oxe Cure Body Acne Spray
~AG~
This acne spray has been on my bathroom shelf for a while now. I have been using this product on and off for about six months. Click my previous post for more product information: http://beautyloverssisters.blogspot.sg/2014/12/new-buy-oxe-cure-body-acne-spray.html
Recently, my back acne has decided to make an appearance again. So, I have been putting Oxe Cure Body Acne Spray to good use. Instead of simply spraying it on my back, I spray it on a cotton pad and wipe it across my back. This is a more targeted application of the acne spray. Plus, it additionally acts as a toner to remove impurities as well. This is evidence by the residues found on my cotton pad after wiping it across my back. You will be surprised by how much impurities are left on your back even after a good shower. By using Oxe Cure Body Acne Spray as a toner, it helps to prevent the pores on my back from clogging.
The spray function of this product works pretty well. I did not have any problem with the nozzle or the spray coverage. The nozzle works well to dispense the right amount of product to my cotton pad or my back. Unlike some other spray bottles, I did not have a difficult time using this product.
The formula of the acne spray is gentle on the skin, so it takes a while to see results. After using it for over a month, then I noticed a slight improvement to my back acne appearances. You have to be patient with this product.
I will say this acne spray does work for my back acne, even though the results are not immediate. You have to use this product consistently to reduce the appearances of back acne. It is not a magic product that vanishes back acne instantly, but I find that it does help minimize it. Though, this acne spray does not help with acne scars.

Is Your Deodrant Safe for Use?
Have you read online articles on the possible link of using antiperspirant deodorants and the occurrence of breast cancer? As a young woman, these articles are of concern to me. Between 2009-2013, breast cancer was the most common type of cancer affecting women in Singapore (29.3%). This means that 2 out of the 10 women you know might be diagnosed with breast cancer!! https://www.nrdo.gov.sg/docs/librariesprovider3/default-document-library/cancer-trends-report-2009-2013.pdf?sfvrsn=0
I do not know about you. But that number is ALARMING! One of my best friends stopped using antiperspirant deodorant because of these reports. Do note, at this time of publication, the science community does not warrant this claim, but they do mention that there might be a possible link. More peer-reviewed studies need to be done on it.
"Studies suggest that chemicals in antiperspirants, including aluminum, are absorbed into the skin.. These studies claim that those chemicals may then interact with DNA and lead to cancerous changes in cells, or interfere with the action of the female hormone estrogen, which is known to influence the growth of breast cancer cells."

With that being said, I much prefer to be on the SAFE side. Thus, I will be switching to a deodorant that is aluminium-free. In search of an aluminium-free deodorant in Singapore is like finding money on the ground. Guardian only carried one aluminium-free deodorant which was a crystal aloe vera stick in a glass packaging. I NEVER heard of that brand before and it was retailing for S$26. Some shops that I went to were belief, The Body Shop, Aesop, Kiehls, Lush, Sephora, Crabtree and Evelyn, and FINALLY L'Occitane. NEW BUY : Oxe Cure Body Acne Spray
~AG~
One of my Thai friends recommended this acne body spray. This is in available in Thailand at Boots for 255 Baht (S$11).
She said this acne spray works well. The result is not instanteous, but it is effective.
The active ingredient in this spray is 1% salicylic acid. It claims to cleans acne blemishes and helps prevent new acne pimples. The spray supposedly works from any angle, and even upside down.
My back acne is appearing again. I can feel bumps on my back. Since I will be wearing a strapless evening gown in two weeks time, immediate measure should be taken to treat and prevent more acne from appearing. I really hope this works. *cross my fingers*
